Job Description Job Description The position offers the opportunity to be a Plastics and Composites Engineer and work on a variety of growth initiatives in the electric and ICE vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about the design and manufacture of plastics and composites, supplier interactions, design and release of plastics and composites, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Subject matter expert in 1 or more areas of component design (exterior body panels, interior, chassis/structural components, and fuel tanks) and processes (injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, blow molding, thermoforming).

Understanding of all processes to manufacture plastic components: injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and other common processes used for the manufacturing of products made from polymeric materials. Develop and maintain material and component specifications and qualification plans. Learn and contribute to requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R and specifications, engineering change notices.

Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities. Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects. Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies Assist in developing test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor designers, lab technicians and other team members. Understand and influence regulatory standards that affect your product. Develop and drive cross functional team to scheduled milestones for assigned projects.

Effectively self-manage large projects Expert in Problem solving techniques (9-step, 8D, etc.). First point of contact within engineering regarding customer issues QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB Education: Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering Technology or equivalent is required Expert in at least 1 of the following areas is beneficial, but not a necessity: Knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset materials Process knowledge for injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and other common processes used for the manufacturing of products made from polymeric materials. Familiar with Mold Flow and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Experience: 7+ years' experience is recommended.
