Job description

NDT UT Level ll Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced NDT UT Level ll Technician to inspect materials, structures, and critical infrastructure assets using non-destructive testing methods to identify flaws, structural weaknesses, and compliance issues. This role plays a key part in ensuring safety, structural integrity, and quality standards across field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform detailed inspections utilizing NDT methods in accordance with applicable safety standards, company procedures, and industry requirements

Evaluate structural integrity and identify corrosion, cracks, flaws, and other material defects

Calibrate and operate NDT equipment while interpreting results against relevant codes and specifications

Document inspection findings, upload required data and photos, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective action

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders regarding inspection outcomes and repair recommendations

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection procedures, tools, and methodologies

Maintain strong adherence to safety practices and field compliance standards

Qualifications:

Valid motor vehicle license

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred

Minimum of 3 years of NDT, utility maintenance, fabrication, or related industry experience preferred

Required Certification: NDT Level II UT Shear Wave

Additional certifications preferred:

  • NDT Level II UTT
  • NDT Level II MT
  • NDT Level II PT
  • CWI Certification

Strong understanding of structural inspection processes, corrosion detection, and applicable safety standards

Proficiency in operating NDT inspection equipment and related field tools

Strong communication and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and prioritize field assignments effectively

Ability to travel extensively (up to 90%) and be away from home for 3 to 4 weeks at a time.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds

Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions

Strong visual acuity and hand-eye coordination required

Compensation:

$28.00 – $46.00/hour depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
