Job description

We are seeking individuals with genuine empathy and patience to help care for our residents' needs. Applicants must have a caring approach and be willing to care for the needs of patients and the team. Pillars for successful employment are work ethic, integrity, and competence.
We are currently seeking a Hall Monitor.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receive shift report and resident/room list.
  • Complete hourly, eyeball-to-eyeball face checks.
  • Document resident location and behavior accurately.
  • Knock before entering resident rooms; ensure privacy and dignity.
  • Check rooms for safety hazards; place call lights within reach.
  • Answer call lights; notify CNA/Charge Nurse if hands-on care is needed.
  • Walk halls regularly to monitor and assist residents.
  • No eating, drinking, or loitering in hallways or at nurse's station.
  • Report changes in behavior, distress, or missing residents to nurse.
  • Confirm with CNA/Charge Nurse before giving food or drinks.
  • Review aspiration list for food/drink permissions.
  • Pass fresh ice water (confirm fluid restrictions with nursing staff).
  • Notify Charge Nurse for thickened fluids as needed.
  • No personal phone calls or visitors while on duty.
  • Take breaks off the floor at approved times.
  • Arrange CNA/designee coverage and notify Charge Nurse before leaving unit.
  • Assist with resident smoking as directed.
  • Provide linens upon request.
  • Empty resident room trash cans at end of shift.
  • Keep apron, hand sanitizer, and gloves on at all times.
  • Assist with meal times; only feed residents if certified and documented.
