Job description

Nursing Home Cook -- full-time & per diem openings!

Weekly pay at $17.50. Shift is 12:30p-8:30p.

The Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cook to join our culinary team! As a Cook at our center, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality food for our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and providing exceptional customer service. If you are passionate about cooking and want to make a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply!

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare food according to standardized recipes and menu plans, adhering to therapeutic diets ordered by physicians
Ensure proper serving temperatures, visual appeal of food, and portion control
Monitor daily nourishments, follow sanitation and storage policies, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Adhere to dining service procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines
Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel

Requirements:

1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred, but not necessary; we can train the right candidate!
Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Ability to make independent decisions, deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and visitors, and possess leadership ability
Knowledge of dining service procedures, related laws, regulations, and guidelines
Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas
Patient, tactful, and enthusiastic with a cheerful disposition
