Job description

Role Summary
This Senior Software Developer role supports mission-critical aviation programs. The position focuses on designing, building, and enhancing cloud-enabled applications that help modernize aviation operations and improve safety and reliability. Responsibilities include translating requirements into secure, maintainable code, collaborating across engineering and cybersecurity teams, and delivering solutions through modern DevSecOps practices. The work directly contributes to scalable software systems used by aviation professionals across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical design activities and participate in architecture and design reviews
  • Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications supporting aviation programs
  • Translate system and business requirements into well-structured, maintainable code
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and product stakeholders to meet application requirements
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression tests to validate functionality and performance
  • Support integration of applications into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system integration challenges
  • Contribute to documentation, including technical design artifacts, user guides, and compliance materials
  • Ensure solutions align with federal compliance requirements, security standards, and performance objectives

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or Associate degree with 7 years, or High School diploma/equivalent with 9 years
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise software using modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar
  • Experience designing and developing applications in cloud or hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and working within microservices architectures
  • Experience performing unit, integration, and regression testing
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and system integration challenges
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Publishing Pay Range:  $48.00 - $52.00 hourly
