Commercial Electrical Service Technician – Lead Commercial and Light Industrial Power System Installations


Job Overview

  • Company: Technical Electrical.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $25.00 to $35+ per hour (Based on experience plus Sign-On and Performance Bonuses).
  • Location: Richmond, VA.
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday (Opportunities for overtime based on project demand).
  • Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid Driver's License.


The Opportunity

You will function as a premier technical expert, executing complex commercial and light industrial power system distribution upgrades. This role offers you the professional autonomy to lead critical field troubleshooting maneuvers while supported by a highly collaborative management team. You will directly impact regional commercial infrastructure reliability while building a stable, long-term trade career backed by prevailing wage incentives.


How You Will Make An Impact

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain intricate commercial electrical systems and structural fixtures.
  • Connect technical field wiring systems to circuit breakers, distribution transformers, and main panel components.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace defective industrial wiring setups, power components, or system fixtures.
  • Utilize advanced testing meters and diagnostic tools to evaluate circuits for complete operational safety.
  • Construct complex conduit pathways by precisely measuring, cutting, bending, and threading heavy systems.
  • Execute high-voltage junction box wiring, advanced wire splicing, terminal connections, and switchgear setups.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with regional electrical codes, corporate policies, and safety protocols.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Verified background and hands-on technical experience operating within commercial electrical environments.
  • Solid fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial lock-out safety protocols.
  • Active and valid driver's license necessary for responsive territory service dispatches.
  • Advanced personal communication capabilities required to drive efficient cross-functional project coordination.
  • Full flexibility to adjust to a 25% regional travel infrastructure when servicing remote accounts.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience executing electrical service contracts on high-security federal or municipal government sites.
  • Completed safety milestones including an active OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or NFPA 70E safety card.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting industrial motor control centers, automated relays, or specialized programmable systems.
