DESCRIPTION:

Furry Fellas is currently hiring dependable, experienced animal professionals for dog walking and pet sitting positions in the East Greenwich / North Kingstown, RI area.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking for active, ongoing pet care work with an established professional company that values reliability, communication, continued education, and high-quality care standards.

CURRENT PRIORITY COVERAGE NEEDS:
• Weekday mornings (7am–10am)
• Weekday afternoons (11am–1pm or 11am–3pm)
• Weekday evenings (4pm–6pm)
• Night availability (7pm–9pm)
• Weekend availability (Sat/Sun)

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

We are currently hiring for multiple recurring coverage positions.

Applicants should have consistent recurring availability for one or more designated service blocks, such as:

Monday–Friday Service Blocks:
• Mornings (7am–10am)
• Afternoons (11am–1pm or 11am–3pm)
• Evenings (4pm–6pm)
• Nights (7pm–9pm)

Weekend (Sat/Sun) Service Blocks:
• 7am–9am
• 11am–1pm or 11am–3pm
• 4pm–6pm
• 7pm–9pm

Applicants are not expected to work every service block. However, the selected block(s) should generally remain consistently available for scheduling purposes.

The more recurring coverage blocks an applicant is available for, the greater the opportunity for scheduling, client assignments, and increased hours.

Additional weekday opportunities are available for weekend team members seeking additional hours.

Our scheduling model prioritizes consistency for both pets and clients, so limited, highly restricted, or fragmented availability may not be the best fit for current openings.

IDEAL CANDIDATES:
• Have professional animal experience (pet sitting, veterinary, shelter, daycare, grooming, training, etc.)
• Are dependable, responsive, organized, and experienced working independently
• Live locally within East Greenwich, RI, North Kingstown, RI, or within approximately 10–15 minutes of the area
• Can independently manage travel routes between client homes
• Are comfortable working within an assigned schedule based on business demand
• Want ongoing work opportunities with a professional team

IMPORTANT SCHEDULING EXPECTATIONS:
We manage scheduling assignments based on client demand and business needs. Team members are responsible for managing their travel routes between visits and arriving reliably and on time to assigned appointments.

COMPENSATION & POSITION INFORMATION:

Furry Fellas utilizes a per-visit pay structure with earnings varying based on visit length, experience, certifications, availability, and overall performance.

Current pay ranges include:
• 15 minute visit: $9
• 20 minute visit: $10
• 30 minute visit: $10.50
• 45 minute visit: $12 or approximately 75% of approved hourly-equivalent rate
• 60 minute/hourly visits starting at $16/hour equivalent with opportunities to increase up to $18/hour equivalent based on experience, certifications, reliability, availability, performance, and overall operational consistency

Additional compensation includes:
• Mileage reimbursement
• Tips
• Paid certifications and continuing education opportunities
• Increased earnings opportunities based on performance, reliability, flexibility, and client demand

All newly hired team members begin at the Pet Care Trainee level while completing onboarding and learning company systems and protocols.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior professional animal care experience required (6 months–1 year minimum required)
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone with internet access
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently

POSITION DETAILS:
• Approximately 10–25 hours per week
• Team members may set a preferred maximum weekly hour range based on availability and coverage needs
• Scheduling and client assignments will typically start gradually and build over time toward desired hours based on performance, availability, service area needs, and client demand
