Job description

About the Job

MDM Entertainment is a production company based in Schaumburg, IL. We build, install, and operate technical productions for corporate and private clients throughout the Chicago area. Think large scale installations involving audio, video, lighting, staging, draping, and custom builds, delivered on tight timelines by small, skilled crews.

We are looking for reliable, hard working people to join our production crew. No experience in our industry is required. If you have a strong work ethic, you are comfortable with tools and physical work, you learn fast, and you take pride in doing things right, we want to talk to you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Loading and unloading trucks with production equipment (cases, fixtures, staging, drape, furniture, and more)
  • Setting up and tearing down installations at venues across the Chicago area
  • Working from packing lists and floor plans to place equipment accurately
  • Running cables, assembling hardware, hanging fixtures, and building out production elements under the direction of a crew lead
  • Handling equipment carefully and ensuring everything comes back in the same condition it left in
  • Driving company vans and box trucks to and from venues
  • Working as part of a team to hit tight setup deadlines

What We Are Looking For

  • Dependable, punctual, and professional. You show up on time, every time
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day and working on your feet for extended hours
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, ladders, and basic hardware
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and ask questions when something is unclear
  • A quick learner who pays attention to details
  • Someone who works well on a team and does not need to be told twice
  • Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varying schedules based on project needs
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Experience driving vans and box trucks preferred
  • Comfortable with heights and ladder work

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Paid training. We will teach you everything you need to know
  • A clear path for advancement into specialized technical roles (audio, video, lighting, rigging) with certification pay increases
  • Variety. No two days are the same, and you will work at some of the best venues in Chicago
  • A team environment where hard work is noticed and rewarded

Background

People come to us from all kinds of backgrounds: warehouse work, construction, moving companies, delivery, cable installation, landscaping, manufacturing, and more. What they have in common is they work hard, they are dependable, and they want to be part of something bigger than just clocking in and out.

If that sounds like you, apply today.

To Apply: Submit your resume or a brief summary of your work experience. No cover letter required.

Location: Schaumburg, IL, with work at venues throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
