Job Summary

SUMMARY: The Energy Manager is responsible for supporting energy management programs and initiatives to achieve energy reduction and carbon footprint goals for the Mount Sinai Health System. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    Assist in developing comprehensive energy management strategies. 
    Develop and execute site specific Energy Management Plans. 
    Oversee consultants and contractors providing energy services. 
    Support the Energy Director in performing tasks required for compliance with Local Laws 84, 87, and 97 and other applicable legislation. 
    Perform energy audits, retro-commissioning, and system optimization activities. 
    Develop energy conservation measures and manage resulting energy projects. 
    Develop appropriate Measurement and Verifcation protocols and manage implementation. 
    Perform energy data collection, analysis, and reporting to track performance against established goals. 
    Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure the integration of energy-saving measures into facility operations and project plans. 
    Assist in managing energy budgets. 
    Oversight of submetering plan. 
    Perform tasks to identify and obtain available incentives from NYSERDA & Con Ed. 

Develop and present detailed energy & financial models to justify energy investments. 
Stay informed about the latest developments in energy technology and practices. 
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Energy Director. 
Provide the aforementioned services at multiple Mount Sinai Hospital locations throughout NYC. 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
   Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy management, facilities management or related fields. 
   Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting) and building management control systems (BMS/BAS). 
   Proficiency in energy data analysis tools and benchmarking platforms such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. 
   Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. 

EDUCATION: 
   Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. 

Required Licensing/Certification: 
   Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification required. 

Desired Licensing/Certification: 
   Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) certification preferred.
