Job description

Position Summary
The E-Commerce Manager oversees the entire Goodwill Industries SELA  e-commerce operation for Retail. This role is responsible for facilitating processes, improving production efficiencies, managing product assortment, optimizing product valuation techniques, and maximizing the flow of donated goods from Retail Stores to online selling platforms.

The E-Commerce Manager focuses on improving sell-through rates by enhancing the quality and value of listings across all selling platforms while creating a positive and productive culture within the E-Commerce department. This position partners closely with Store Management and Retail Leadership to maximize donor value, ensure operational excellence, and support Goodwill's mission.


Essential Functions
  • Manage the overall e-commerce operation for Retail.

  • Collaborate with Retail Leadership regarding item selection for e-commerce.

  • Optimize product valuation and listing quality across all selling platforms.

  • Improve online sales performance and sell-through rates.

  • Ensure timely shipping and resolution of customer inquiries and concerns.

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of e-commerce platforms and operational tools.

  • Partner with Marketing to support promotional strategies and campaigns.

  • Provide communication and training to Retail Stores to maximize donor value and operational partnership.

  • Evaluate operating practices and implement process improvements to support efficiency and growth.

  • Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the e-commerce team.

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop e-commerce associates.

  • Address employee performance and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy.

  • Assist with daily operational coverage as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Report all injuries and incidents according to company policy.

  • Monitor and report on KPIs including sales, production, sell-through rates, profitability, and listing goals.

  • Review financial statements, maintain records, and manage expenditures within budget expectations.

  • Meet or exceed daily listing production goals.

  • Ability to develop and apply strategies that improve online sales performance.

  • Experience utilizing analytics related to sales, sell-through, production, and profitability.

  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and online selling tools.

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.

  • Ability to photograph merchandise using an iPhone or similar device.

  • Supervisory and team leadership experience required.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation required.

  • Must be able to pass an MVR check.

  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, vehicle registration, and current inspection sticker required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power BI, and related programs.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.


Physical Demands

Working Conditions
