Job description

Motion Concepts is a Canadian based company that designs and manufactures power positioning systems and a global market leader of seating and positioning products, is looking for a Technical Writer with solid experience to support Engineering and QA departments to create and maintain technical and training documentation.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

The technical writer position is responsible for the writing of SOP’s, work instructions, technical manuals, and the maintenance of technical documentation as it relates to product/process changes and new product development.
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to learn and understand products, purpose and functionality.
  • Work with Marketing, Production, Engineering and QA departments, collect information and write or review protocols for verification and validation of projects
  • Participate in departmental or company-wide projects designed to improve the internal efficiency and overall quality of work.
  • Understand, modify and edit technical manuals
  • Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts in English or certificate in Technical Communications or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in technical writing
  • Exceptional ability to observe technical processes and relay the information in a concise and effective way
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English and have solid communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct Policies.
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
