Job description

Hourly/Non-Exempt
Reports to: County Manager
Summary: As Dispatcher, coordinate the movements of means of transport vans and buses by communicating with Drivers through computers, phones and two-way radios. Assign drivers to their respective vehicles and ensure that time schedules are maintained.
Essential Duties Dispatcher:
  • Answer phones at a high volume
  • Schedule drivers and make vehicle assignments
  • Communicate any changes to drivers and clients
  • Keep track of the progress that drivers make along their routes.
  • Follow the routes taken by the drivers
  • Check the drivers’ in and out time and transfer these records into files
  • Handle any requests and/or complaints communicated by the clients.
  • Verify eligibility and schedule agency services for clients
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills:
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work independently
  • Ability to work with computers and other office equipment
Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pre-Employment, Post-Accident, Random and Reasonable Suspicion Drug Screens
  • National Background Check
