Job description

Position: Pharmacy Technician (PTCB Certified) – Full Time Direct Hire

Location: Sitka, Alaska
Job Type: Full Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Rotating weekends required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $62,000 – $80,000 annually
Hourly Range: $27.81 – $38.62/hour

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus
$10,000 Relocation Assistance for qualified candidates

Responsibilities:

Pharmacy Operations

  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
  • Retrieve, count, label, and package medications
  • Enter medication orders into pharmacy systems for pharmacist review
  • Maintain medication inventory and stock supplies
  • Refill automated dispensing systems and medication cabinets
  • Handle controlled substances documentation and delivery
  • Monitor refrigerator temperatures and pharmacy equipment

Sterile Compounding & Technical Support

  • Prepare and maintain IV room cleanliness
  • Support sterile compounding activities
  • Maintain hood pressure logs and cleanliness standards
  • Follow hazardous drug handling protocols

Customer Service

  • Answer pharmacy phone calls and refill requests
  • Assist patients at pharmacy windows and waiting areas
  • Triage patient questions and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Process prescription refills and billing reversals when needed


Qualifications:-

Required:

  • Alaska Pharmacy Technician License (required at hire)
  • PTCB Certification required within one year of hire
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Basic pharmaceutical math skills


Preferred:

  • Hospital or healthcare pharmacy experience
  • Sterile compounding experience
  • Experience with automated pharmacy systems
