DETAILS
Location: Irving, TX 75039 (hybrid 4days [M-TH] per week onsite)

JOB SUMMARY
Vaco is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet / Cisco) for a Direct-Hire opportunity that is located in Irving, TX 75039 (onsite 5-days per week).  The Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet / Cisco) will primarily focus on supporting the integration of acquired companies into the established enterprise network configuration, including assessment, standardization, and migration activities across network and security environments.  The Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet / Cisco) will manage and optimize a large-scale enterprise network and security infrastructure and will design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot LAN / WAN, wireless, and data center networks, while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.  Additionally, the Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet / Cisco) will resolve escalated technical issues, mentor junior engineers, lead network projects, perform capacity planning, maintain comprehensive documentation, and drive continuous process and systems improvements.

About the Project: The core mission is to lead the migration and standardization of a large, acquired network into an established enterprise “golden configuration.” This involves assessing the acquired environment, performing gap analysis, designing migration strategies, and executing large-scale cutovers across Cisco (Nexus 7k/9k / Catalyst) and Fortinet (FortiGate / SD-WAN / FortiManager) environments while maintaining HA and security.  This role will require a combination of deep technical expertise in Cisco Routing / Switching and Fortinet Security with strong integration leadership to consolidate hundreds of sites into one standardized, high-performing network. This is a high-impact role blending hands-on engineering, project leadership, and cross-team coordination during a critical growth phase, with the ultimate goal of unifying 2 large networks into one best-in-class enterprise infrastructure.
