Job description

Role Summary
Seeking a Network Installer to support mission-critical aviation network infrastructure. The role involves maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting enterprise networking systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This position offers long-term engagement with a focus on supporting FAA operations within a regional geographic area.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure
  • Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling, including single-mode and multi-mode fibers
  • Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools
  • Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents promptly
  • Troubleshoot network issues involving fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalating as necessary
  • Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation procedures
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination (Masters 6+, Associates 10+, High School diploma 12+)
  • Proven experience supporting and managing enterprise network environments
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
  • Experience with TDM-to-IP migration projects and IP-based networking technologies
  • Solid understanding of SD-WAN, fiber optics, and wireless LAN/WAN systems
  • Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and schematics
  • Experience with fiber testing tools such as OTDR

Publishing Pay Range: $60.00 - $65.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
