GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources and supports employee engagement and retention initiatives four our Columbus, GA manufacturing facilities, including our newest start-up chemical manufacturing facility. The HR Generalist will operate as the onsite resource with responsibilities that include but are not limited to coordinating HR processes, supporting recruitment, onboarding and training new hires, providing benefit information and policy interpretation, reinforcing a performance driven and accountable culture, addressing employee relations concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local laws, and maintaining accurate electronic employee records for HRIS data integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process changes to maintain accurate employee data and schedules, assist employees accessing self-service tools, partner with HR Shared Services/HR Operations to implement system enhancements and changes.
Act as main point of contact to address and resolve employee concerns and questions and collaborate with subject matter experts as appropriate.
Payroll - timing of salary adjustments, missed punches or hours, differentials, etc.
Benefits - time off, retirement, health, welfare/ supplemental insurances, leaves of absence, (FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Parental Leave), etc.
Review, monitor, and audit weekly timesheets in Kronos/UKG.
Create and update job descriptions, salary grades and bonus eligibility for plant positions. Ensure consistency and compliance with standard practices (job tracker, library, job codes, etc.).
Assist managers with monitoring and evaluating employee performance and job progression.
Support recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel including but not limited to entering requisitions, tracking and following up on approvals, organizing onsite job events, interviewing candidates, conducting/scheduling candidate interviews and assessments, maintaining open communication, and delivering onboarding and new hire training.
Attend local networking events, job fairs, school recruiting and other related activities to promote and represent the company.
Guide new hires through on-boarding process, including but not limited to pre-employment requirements, I-9 completion, new hire documents, initial training/orientation, system access, benefit enrollment, etc.
Ensure timely compliance with employee off-boarding including but not limited to compliant and timely termination notifications, exit interviews, termination letters, systems access, return of property, etc.
Assist with the implementation and execution of scheduled HR initiatives (performance evaluations, merit increases, open enrollment, etc.) and develop local programs for reward, recognition, and ongoing communication.
Work collaboratively with site leadership to provide ongoing day-to-day administrative, reporting and organizational support.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws as well as RPM, company and facility policies and guidelines.
Utilize available technology systems to create, develop and run reports in accordance with established schedules.
Provide general human resource assistance on company acquisition and integration initiatives and priorities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree from accredit four or 5-year college or university, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Psychology or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Minimum of 2 years experience (including internships) in human resources in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment with both hourly and salaried employees.
Knowledge of HR functions aligned with the full employee lifecycle.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with multiple sites/locations preferred
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work independently (will be supported by remote management).
Ability to compartmentalize employee actions with objective review and implementation.
Must maintain confidentiality and model the values of trust, respect, and transparency.
Confident communicator capable of thinking on your feet to act in the best interest of the business and the employee.
Must be comfortable operating in the gray, researching data/precedents, and making decisions based on the best information available at the time.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Tremco operates 3 manufacturing facilities within a 10 mile radius and will be required to travel by auto mobile to all local facilities on a regular basis.
WORK LOCATION: Onsite at our Columbus, GA manufacturing facility on Corporate Ridge Drive.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and lift up to 25 lbs.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $57,500 and $65,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
