Job description

JOB TITLE: Line Cook
The primary responsibility of this position is the consistent production of quality food and the required supporting tasks to achieve that goal including:
-Preparing and executing dishes
-Collaborating with Sous Chef to execute dishes
-Adhere to kitchen processes
-Other tasks as assigned

Full-time hourly position reporting to the Chef
COMPENSATION: $15 / hr. ($14 - $16 / hr. base pay + TIPS avg. $4 - $9 / hr.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the chefs in all kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Manage food inventory and ordering.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Develop new recipes and menus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Positive, thoughtful and approachable
  • Solid organization, planning, and time management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Drop Box, and the Google Drive Suite
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • A history in casual dining management of at least five years working as a Café or Restaurant Manager.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish

Good Company Doughnuts and Café operates four Cafe's in Arlington and DC... we're in Southwest DC, Ballston on N. Glebe Road and at Pentagon City and National Landing at Amazon HQ2 and on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC. We are a gourmet doughnut shop and casual neighborhood restaurant obsessed with artisan, hand-cut doughnuts; great food; kraft cocktails; fine teas and specialty coffee!
We're known for amazing food, beverages and excellent customer service; our customers line up on weekends for our extraordinary experience and high-quality offerings, and we are opening a new location at the Waterfront in DC next year!
