Team Lead Accountant
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: 9+ Months Contract (Through April 2027)

Pay Rate : $30-35/hr on 1099 all inlusive without benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Team Lead Accountant to support a large-scale financial project focused on reconciling and closing legacy grants and projects within financial and grants management systems. This role will combine hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership, tracking project status, coordinating activities, and ensuring successful project closeout.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and auditing experience, knowledge of governmental accounting principles, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and track the status of grant and project reconciliations through completion and closeout.
Reconcile historical project and grant activities.
Perform detailed financial audits and reviews of project transactions.
Prepare and process journal entries and revenue transactions as needed.
Coordinate project closeout activities within financial and grants management systems.
Review grant awards and funding requirements to ensure compliance.
Maintain detailed records and reporting on project reconciliation progress.
Collaborate with internal finance teams to resolve discrepancies and complex accounting issues.
Research, analyze, and recommend solutions for accounting and audit-related challenges.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Equivalent accounting experience may be considered.
Experience
3–5 years of progressive accounting and/or auditing experience.
Experience working with PeopleSoft financial systems.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
Experience performing account reconciliations, financial analysis, and journal entries.
Preferred Qualifications
Government accounting experience.
State government accounting experience.
Audit experience.
Experience with grants management and grant reconciliation.
Experience using Euna Financial and Grants software.
