Job description

Operations Manager (Will be required to cover shifts)
This is a working manager position.  We’re looking for a hands-on experienced and dynamic Hotel Operations Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our hotel. As the Hotel Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of various departments, providing exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of hotel management.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate daily hotel operations to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • Collaborate with department heads, including front desk and housekeeping to optimize workflows
  • Monitor and analyze guest satisfaction surveys and reviews, implementing improvements as needed
  • Manage and optimize hotel budgets, controlling expenses and maximizing revenue
  • Train, motivate, and lead a diverse team to deliver exceptional service and uphold brand standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and local businesses
  • Handle guest concerns and complaints with professionalism and a commitment to resolution
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Cover front desk shifts regularly
  • Directly manage the housekeeping department and front office
  • Effectively and professionally communicates with departments and GM
  • Oversee maintenance department to ensure PM’s are completed correctly, assist to review work orders and determine outside needs
  • Conduct periodic walk through/visual inspections of all property assets to determine condition, establish maintenance priorities and highlight need for improvement areas
  • Informs management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the safety and security of hotel guests, staff and assets
  • Improve profitability by increasing revenues, customer satisfaction and staff productivity.
  • Control budgets by planning and monitoring expenditures, prices, cash flow, and sales volumes; develop control procedures; monitor results.
  • Make decisions about the most appropriate methods and procedures for maintaining financial records based on internal controls, professional standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Planning the marketing, promotional activities and operational activities of the restaurant.
  • Oversee housekeeping operations in accordance with established guest service, quality and sustainability standards.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
  • Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Public space is clean and bathrooms/pool/fitness is stocked at all times for guest amenities
  • Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven experience in hotel operations management, with a track record of successful leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and optimize operational efficiency
  • Leadership and team management skills, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of service
  • Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment
