Job Description

This generalist role provides operational Talent & Culture support across the region, assisting with the execution of company and brand strategic initiatives, processes, ensuring smooth operations, compliance with regulations, and delivery of Talent & Culture services.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Lead and support daily office and P&C initiatives within the New York City office
  • Support the Corporate Director, P&C with onboarding and offboarding of new colleague within the office
  • Ensuring compliance with state laws are adhered to within the office P&C practices and policies
  • Support the development and execution of P&C operational initiatives such as policy development, compliance, and annual people and culture programs
  • Provide guidance and direction to Hotel Talent & Culture Directors as it relates to programming/policies/procedures/compliance and employee relations.
  • Oversee the effective execution and completion of hotel Employee Engagement Action Plans, hosting monthly update calls with property GMs and Directors, T&C to review progress
  • Manage Taskworld platform for hotel openings, assisting GM and Regional Director, T&C with the recruitment of key leadership roles in the absence of Director, T&C.
  • Provide guidance to field GMs and Directors, T&C on annual performance review, goal setting and talent review, ensuring 100% the completion
  • Manage HR Metrics, reviewing for trends, red-flags, areas of concern, investigating rot cause, and working with VP, Talent & Culture and Regional Director, Talent & culture to develop initiatives to improve
  • Lead P&C field reviews, implement action plans where needed and ensure completion of action plans to improve the health of the P&C function
  • Onboard new Directors, People & Culture
  • Support VP People & Culture with the onboarding of new General Manager, inclusive of system set-up, profile creation, training and goal setting alongside their VP Operations
  • Participate in P&C workgroups established for global initiatives
  • Stay abreast of employment legislation across region, educating field as required and identifying where new SOP's may be require
  • Assist with labour relation planning, data collection, collective bargaining costings and action planning
  • Liaise with Director, Benefits as it relates to benefit concerns across region and participate in property T&C Annual Benefit planning and quarterly benefit utilization calls
  • Conducting investigations as required

Qualifications
  • Degree in HR or related discipline preferred
  • Previous experience in hotel operations at a Director level
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver engaging presentations to large audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and connect with others
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous experience with Taleo/Oracle Talent Acquisitions systems is an asset
