This role is based at one of our corporate offices in McLean, VA; Dallas, TX; or Memphis, TN
This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that's creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Lead Quality Engineer SDET, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Quality Engineering team reporting to the Director of Quality Engineering, you will support assigned projects including:
  • Work within an Agile team alongside UI developers analyzing the application architecture and delivering quality automation via Unit, Component, Cross Browser, Visual Regression, and End-to-end tests
  • Work with Git, Nx, Next, React, Tailwind, Vitest, Cypress or Playwright, and GraphQL
  • Influence the inclusion of testability during development phases
  • Participate in code reviews

What you'll do during a typical day:
  • Evaluate automation strategies to identify areas for improvement and increase testing efficiency
  • Be the critical link between software development engineers and quality engineering by combining coding expertise with testing strategies
  • Ensure compliance of quality processes and standards
  • Influence testability during development phases
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, and functioning processes and testing of products
  • Design and write automated scripts that run tests on new and/or existing software/ apps in an Agile environment
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted developer productivity tools to accelerate test creation, improve code quality, and enhance automation efficiency across the SDLC.
  • Apply AI-enabled quality engineering techniques to support debugging, test case generation, and risk analysis, helping advance Hilton's AI-enhanced engineering pipeline.
  • Configure and experiment with lightweight AI agents to automate portions of testing workflows, including prompt-driven test generation and automated analysis of test results.

How you'll collaborate with others:
  • Work multi-functionally to help discover and eliminate issues through testing end-user workflows
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to achieve expected quality levels in products
  • Collaborate with UI Software Engineers in projects by advising and implementing quality automation standards
  • Mentor and lead others as assigned

Deliverables you'll take ownership of:
  • Assigned Automation
  • Compliance of quality processes and standards
  • Assist with automation guidelines, processes, and tools selection

What It Takes to Make the Stay
You have these minimum qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in web application development and/or testing
  • Proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Proficiency in the Cypress or Playwright testing frameworks
  • This is a hybrid role and would require to be near our McLean, Dallas, or Memphis office location
  • Travel up to 5%

It would be useful if you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus six plus (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve plus (12+) years of Technology related experience
  • Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise software products such as Atlassian
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to support test automation, code generation, and developer productivity
  • Exposure to agent-based productivity frameworks or emerging ecosystems such as model-context-based platforms (MCP) as examples
  • Experience configuring lightweight AI-powered agents to enhance testing workflows-for example, customizing prompts, tool-invocation steps, or automated test-generation behaviors
  • Interest in exploring new AI-driven engineering approaches and contributing to Hilton's evolution toward AI-enhanced quality engineering practices.

Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package to support their mental and physical well-being, so they can Thrive personally and professionally. The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
