The Opportunity:
Hotel Magdalena is seeking an enthusiastic Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Hotel Magdalena operations team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about celebrating creativity and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
The person having this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. Furthermore, a Receiving Clerk must develop and maintain the company's culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors, and partners.
Who We Are:
In the mid-1950s and 1960s, the Terrace Motor Hotel sat on the same location as the Hotel Magdalena and the Hotel Saint Cecilia. This 14-acre stretch off South Congress spanning five city blocks, including the Terrace Motor Hotel, eventually came to be owned by legendary musician Willie Nelson. In the 70s, he started Austin Opry House, a famous 1,700 seat music venue, and also built apartments for musicians and traveling road crew. We aim to honor our heritage and provide the same effervescent home to all who pass through.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ability to prioritize multiple deliveries and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate receiving equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and hand trucks as applicable.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products regularly; specific weight requirements should align with the hotel's established physical-demand standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in loading, storage, refrigerated, and freezer areas for extended periods.
• Availability to work early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Commitment to maintaining clean, organized, secure receiving and storage areas.
• Professional, dependable, and able to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with hotel departments and vendors
• Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and products against purchase orders and invoices.
• Scan, organize, and maintain invoices and receiving documentation to ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping.
• Identify missing, incorrect, damaged, or substituted products and follow up directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate product shortages, delivery issues, and discrepancies to appropriate department leaders.
• Receive, log, and properly handle packages delivered to the hotel.
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
