Job description

Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an In-Room Dining Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.
The In-Room Dining Server will be responsible for serving food and alcoholic beverages to guests in their hotel rooms and setting up tables according to order placed while following service standards.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in taking order through the phone and in-person as needed
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. 
  • Answer questions on menu selections
  • Pick-up trays and clean tables as needed to ensure cleanliness
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning as needed, etc.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications
  • Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of hotel experience
  • Ability to carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to listen effectively
  • Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • Physical demands:
    • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
    • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
    • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
