Job description

JOB REQUIREMENT SUMMARY:

 Oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms.

 Responsible for the preventative maintenance of the hotel guest rooms, public space and all 

related equipment.

 Perform other duties as needed and requested by management 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education & Experience:

 High School diploma equivalent required.

 Three years of commercial maintenance experience required.

 In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance required. 

General Requirements: 

 Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an 

attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.

 Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

 Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and 

service-oriented manner.

 Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.

 Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Soch Standards, as required by scheduling.

 Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the 

proper uniform and nametag.

 Comply with Soch Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

 Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing 

solutions.

 Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to 

meet appropriate objectives.

 Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.

 Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

 Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.

 Perform other duties as requested by management.

 Willing to work on weekends and holidays as required. 

 Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.

Physical requirements:

 Ability to stand during entire shift.

 Heavy work - Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds 

of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise 

move objects

 Long hours and flexibility occasionally required. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS:

Primary Functions:

Maintenance Operations: 

- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, or makes recommendation for repairs, of all 

mechanical/electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, all building components and 

furniture, fixtures, and equipment. 

- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the maintenance room.

 Profit:

- Effectively support the control and management of all maintenance operational expenses 

including labor, overtime, supplies etc., and seek and suggest cost saving strategies. 

Quality: 

- Guest Service: Work closely with Front office staff and housekeeping department to ensure that 

the hotel meets/exceeds Soch’s and brand standards for guest satisfaction.

- Guest Requests: Satisfy all guest requests/work orders in accordance with the Soch training and 

standards.

- Communication: Politely greet and acknowledge all guests and hotel associates as encountered.

Safety & Security

- Perform maintenance functions in a safe manner and without jeopardizing personal, associate 

or guest health, safety, or security. 

- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.

- Emergency: In case of an emergency, strictly follow the Soch safety and security training and 

protocol.

communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work 

environment, and adhere to Soch’s Standard Operating Procedures
