Job description

The hotel's design and amenities have been thoughtfully crafted to reflect the university’s pride, creating a welcoming environment for guests, students, and alumni alike.


Overview:

The Accounting Manager will supervise Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cashier and Income Audit. They will report to the Director of Finance and supervise the daily operations ensuring compliance with the Company's SOPs and LSOPs, GAAP and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This position requires the candidate to analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure financial information is readily available and accurate. The Accounting Manager will assist in the preparation of the annual budget, forecast, taxes and other financial reports. They will also train, monitor and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and information flow to other departments. They will ensure smooth operation by resolving issues in the accounting systems.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate daily revenue figures and ensures revenues are reported daily to Crestline Hotels & Resorts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all accounting systems, ensures that training, updates, and preventive maintenance happens on a routine basis.
  • Facilitates monthly guest ledger and city ledger adjustments and charges on a journal entry for General Ledger posting. Ensures accuracy by verifying ledger balances daily.
  • Handles all office supply orders, maintaining ample supply and controlling costs.
  • Assists in all inventory and price verifications reviewed monthly.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Audit and Payroll.
  • Reviews all guest ledger accounts to insure accounts are being maintained.
  • Prepares and facilitates training, reviews, raps, schedules, meetings, and associate satisfaction for all associates.
  • Assists in monthly accrual meetings with department managers.
  • Verifies monthly revenue reports and assists in all month-end entries.
  • Attends all staff meetings and in-house training classes.
  • Assists Controller in preparation of profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains positive working relations between accounting and all other hotel associates/managers. Insures department confidentiality.
  • Assists in monthly communication to owners and management companies.
  • Ensures continual open communication with Controller, ensuring all areas of department maintained.
  • Facilitates monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Facilitates balances and reports all taxes in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, Crestline and hotel policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred; or 5 Years’ Work Equivalent
  • 2 -3 years of experience related to Accounting/Finance. Computer skills required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred, Excel required. Experience with hotel information systems is required
