Job description

Description
GF Hotels and Resorts and the former Dayton Vitality Hotel are hiring a Chief Engineer. The hotel chief engineer manages all maintenance operations, physical building structures, and safety systems to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and pool systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Run routine checks and scheduled servicing to stop equipment failures before they happen.
Safety & Code Compliance: Inspect fire alarms, emergency lights, boilers, and elevators to meet local and federal health and safety codes.
Team Management: Hire, train, schedule, and lead the property's maintenance crew and outside contractors.
Budgeting: Control repair costs, monitor utility use, and manage department spending.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on building maintenance experience, with previous supervisory or director experience preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
Certifications: Valid state or local safety credentials, such as a Fire and Life Safety Director (FLSD) certification, are often required.
