Job description

As a host/hostess, you will be responsible for greeting and seating guests courteously, quickly and efficiently, with a sincere, positive, pleasant and enthusiastic attitude. The host/hostess will be responsible for answering the phone, placing walk-in/call-in take out orders, managing the wait list, keeping the host/hostess area stocked with all necessary items, and maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby area & menus. Essential Job Functions Welcoming & escorting guests to tables, and provide menus Managing the wait list Answering telephone and directing calls Place walk-in/call-in take out orders May prepare beverages and expedite food orders if necessary May collect payment from customers Address complaints of patrons & or communicating guest's concerns to the manager as appropriate Ensures that take-out orders are complete and food looks appealing before being delivered to a guest Ensures that all food is delivered to guest in a timely manner Maintains knowledge of all table numbers Performs opening, running, and closing duties Other duties as requested by managerPosition Requirements Must posses a positive attitude & smile Have a desire to help out where needed and work as part of a team Be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Be able to work positively under pressure in a fast paced time sensitive restaurant environment Understands the importance of adhering to high customer service standards Maintains excellent knowledge about menu items and ingredients Proficient in the use of Aloha Point-of-sale (POS) terminals Excellent critical thinking and time management skills Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, sushi bar and dining room personnel Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed Works hard to resolve any complaints regarding food or service Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time Must have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job descriptions Flexibility to work a variety of shiftsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by team members to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
