This job is a full-time, year-round, salaried position beginning June 2026. Staff accommodation is available if required!

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Manager plays a key role in the smooth, day-to-day operation of the hotel restaurant and all special events, including banquets. You'll be a visible, hands-on leader who supports the team, creates memorable guest experiences, and keeps the operation running at a high standard.

You will:

  • Supervise staff and ensure that customer expectations are exceeded at all times

  • A leader in daily communication on guest feedback, employee performance and notes from the days shift

  • Support the recruitment, training, coaching, and ongoing management of staff.

  • Lead and execute weddings, conferences and signature events; ensure that no detail is missed and the event is delivered flawlessly

  • Assist with cocktail creation and menu development. Let your passion shine!

  • Assist with inventory management; oversee proper unpacking of weekly orders, ensuring storage locations are neat and tidy at all times and part of the monthly counting ensuring accuracy and attention to detail

  • Able to address customer complaints or issues, and resolve matters as expediently as possible

  • Oversee food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes

  • Daily billing and financial responsibilities to be completed accurately and efficiently

  • Provide support across multiple venues and outlets as required, contributing to overall operational success

  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and workflow to meet the needs of the business, ensuring all responsibilities are completed to a high standard

  • Maintain clean, organized food and beverage areas and champion exemplary food hygiene practices.


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year of supervisor experience in a hotel or restaurant industry

  • Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is an asset

  • Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts)

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrates basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MICROS or similar point-of-sale (P.O.S.) systems (considered an asset).

  • Highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective people-management skills

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
