Hospitality Manager

Join the BLACKBARN team and make a meaningful impact as our Hospitality Manager at one of Manhattan's most dynamic restaurants.

We're seeking a highly organized, proactive, and solutions-driven Hospitality Manager who embodies our core values of hospitality, excellence, and integrity. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment and is equally comfortable managing daily restaurant operations, leading a team, and driving projects to successful completion.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take ownership of assignments, manage competing priorities, and execute projects from conception through completion with guidance from the General Manager. They are an effective communicator, an exceptional organizer, and a collaborative leader who inspires accountability and excellence throughout their department.

Experience handling HR matters and familiarity with New York State Department of Labor regulations are highly desirable. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certificate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the General Manager and AGM to oversee daily operations and support strategic initiatives.
  • Take ownership of operational projects and drive them through completion with minimal oversight.
  • Lead and oversee assigned departments, ensuring standards, accountability, and consistent execution.
  • Manage labor and cost-control initiatives to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Recruit, hire, schedule, onboard, and develop team members.
  • Conduct ongoing staff training and performance coaching.
  • Lead service on the floor with an unwavering commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all Department of Health regulations and company standards.
  • Assist with HR administration, employee relations, and compliance as needed.
  • Create and maintain professional documents, menus, promotional materials, training resources, and internal communications using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collaborate with department heads to improve systems, streamline workflows, and support business growth.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of management experience in hospitality, restaurants, hotels, or another client-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee a department while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from initiation through completion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Google Workspace, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of New York State Department of Labor regulations is a plus.
  • NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.

What You'll Gain

  • Competitive salary
  • Two weeks of paid vacation following the introductory period
  • Medical, dental, and 401(k) benefits
  • Opportunity to grow within an established, hospitality-driven restaurant group
  • A collaborative leadership team committed to professional development and operational excellence
