Job description

Overview

Functions as a member of patient care team. Responsible for duties related to the clerical/operational functions of the nursing unit. Functions as a member of patient care team under the supervision and direction of a licensed nurse in providing competent care to patients, according to their individual needs. 

Responsibilities

Performs basic patient care directed at the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. All documentation must be accurate, complete and legible. All hospital-required reports (i.e. MIDAS), must be completed within the shift of occurrence. Documentation - Accurately documents patient activities and assigned interventions (e.g., vital signs, weights, I&O). Documentation reflects time of occurrence.

Qualifications

Current CPR certification. CNA certification preferred. MAB Certification required. High Medical terminology and transcription skills. Filing skills. High school Diploma or equivalent. Preferably, a minimum of one-year acute care hospital experience. Nursing assistant competency, Good organizational and communication skills. Clear, legible penmanship. Computer knowledgeable.
