Job description

Work Schedule and Shift Premiumsย 

  • 40 hours per week
  • The Dietary Aide's hours vary depending on the job they are doing that day:
    • 6am - 2:30pm, 9:30am - 8pm, or 9:30am - 6pm
  • 2nd shift premium of $2.00/hour applies when you work 4 or more hours on 2nd shift
    • 2nd shift is 3pm - 11pm
  • Weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour

    Qualificationsย 

    • High School diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution

    Responsibilitiesย 

    • Exhibits service excellence in providing service to customers in the cafeteria. Is friendly, helpful and accommodating
    • Utilizes safe food handling practices including taking food temperatures, using gloves when handling food, and storing food properly
    • Uses proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques on equipment tables and chairs.ย  Cleaning assignments are completed
    • Cafeteria is neat during service; foods are displayed appropriately
    • Organizes daily schedule to facilitate efficient food production, service and re-stocking of food and nonfood items
    • Is flexible and available when emergency situations require unusual staffing and is willing to help other areas of the department when needed
    • Uses proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques on work surfaces, equipment and cutting boards
    • Is flexible and available when emergency situations require unusual staffing requirements
    • Recognizes job relationships and functions effectively within the organizational structure
    • Maintains favorable attendance. Reports absences in accordance with the Employee Handbook in the manner prescribed by the Department Manager
    • Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and other means to keep abreast of latest trends in the field
    • Completes mandatory education and employee health screening on a timely basis
    • Perform other duties as required or assigned
