Job description

Description:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center on a contingent basis. This position is ideal for a nurse with endoscopy and/or operating room experience who is comfortable working in a variable, case-driven environment; however, we welcome entry-level candidates who are motivated to learn and grow in the ASC setting.

The RN will provide perioperative care, including pre-operative preparation, intraoperative support (circulating), and post-anesthesia recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and ensure patient readiness for procedures
  • Start IVs, administer medications, and verify consents/documentation
  • Function in a circulating RN role in the endoscopy room
  • Monitor patients in PACU and manage post-anesthesia recovery
  • Assess and manage pain, vital signs, and post-procedure status
  • Provide discharge instructions and patient education
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Adhere to all ASC policies, infection control, and safety standards

Work Schedule

  • This is a contingent/as-needed position based on surgical case volume
  • Typical shift: 6:00/7:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM, depending on case volume
  • Procedure days are scheduled at least 3–4 weeks in advance, with advance notice provided


Requirements:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Michigan
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Endoscopy and/or Operating Room experience preferred
  • PACU experience is a strong plus
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
