Job Description

As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol - Afternoon Shift in Overland Park, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal in a dynamic healthcare location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. In this unarmed role, you will contribute to a caring environment through teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity while handling a variety of daily activities across the location.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.02 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including entrances, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter locations, helping to identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, helping to support authorized entry procedures and reporting suspicious behavior, unsecured areas, and/or policy concerns.
  • Assist with de-escalation support and general assistance requests while maintaining a professional presence in areas where patients, visitors, and/or staff may need direction or information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Hospital-required vaccines are required.
  • Must be able to work in a hospital environment that includes the morgue.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
