Job Description
Allied Universal® is hiring a Field Security Shift Supervisor. The Field Security Shift Supervisor provides leadership and operational oversight of security services within a healthcare facility for a high profile customer. This role ensures the professional delivery of Patient-Centered, trauma-informed Security Services by Supervising Officers, coordinating training, supporting Clinical Teams, and maintaining compliance with Hospital Policies, Joint Commission standards, EMTALA, CMS requirements, and Site-Specific procedures. The Supervisor serves as a key liaison between Hospital Leadership, the Security Account Manager, and frontline Officers-promoting safety, service excellence, and a culture of compassion.

Pay Rate: $20.60 / hour
  • Must be available to work mid shift and night shift (2PM - 10PM and 10PM - 6AM)
  • Must have active D license
  • Must have security supervisor experience
  • Hospital / Medical experience preferred, but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers assigned to his/her shift
  • Conduct shift roll-call and regular Site visits; document Officer knowledge and performance, addressing concerns as needed
  • Ensure Officers maintain a professional appearance, including proper hygiene and uniform compliance
  • Verify that Post Order manuals and other training materials are updated and readily accessible
  • Provide on-the-job training to new Security Officers as needed, reviewing responsibilities, emergency protocols, and Client-specific requirements
  • Handle and report on any shift call-offs from Security Officers; assist in finding post coverage, being mindful of reducing overtime as much as possible
  • Stand post in the event of a call-off or emergency situations; this also includes being held over past regular shift due to call offs or emergency situations
  • Initiate investigations and gather information related to incidents that occur (including use of force incidents)
  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision.
  • Respond to Client requests
  • Distribute equipment, company updates, policy changes, and required documents to Officers and assist in retrieving signed documents for the branch office
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Make recommendations for updates to Physical Security surveys and post orders
  • Make recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel
  • Complete daily activity reports, vehicle maintenance reports, and supervisor pass downs as needed

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass a state licensing test if you will be driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Post offer, must be able to successfully complete company-provided training related to less lethal methodologies such as handcuffs, baton, OC "pepper" Spray, and/or Taser
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in the active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets
    • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
    • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline
  • Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and clinical staff
  • Ability to operate radios, telephones, and security monitoring equipment
  • Strong problem-solving, situational assessment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to compile, interpret, and document information accurately
  • Commitment to patient-centered service and trauma-informed care

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
  • College degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
  • Service in any military branch
  • Prior military or civilian law enforcement experience
