Job description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Health Systems Specialist (Title 5) (Permanent), Position Description Number T5810200 and is part of the VA 192 MEG GP, National Guard.Qualifications:NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. In addition to describing duties performed, applicants must provide the exact dates of each period of employment (from MM/DD/YY to MM/DD/YY) and the number of hours worked per week if part time. As qualification determinations cannot be made when resumes do not include the required information, failure to provide this information may result in disqualification. WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP A - All On Board Federal National Guard Employees within Virginia National Guard.
GROUP B - All current Federal Employees (from any agency), all federal re-employable eligible, and/or current Army M-Day and Air DSG within VANG, regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician, or AGR).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have experience, education or training of the basic principles and practices related to the management of a health care delivery system.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the GS-7 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
  1. Experience being responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field.
  2. Experience with work involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities.
  3. Knowledge of government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
  4. Knowledge of Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups.

Major study -- hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
