Public Safety Security Officer Position Summary

The Public Safety Security Officer is responsible for carrying out the core value of safety at TidalHealth by maintaining a safe, secure condition in and around the hospital buildings and grounds. This position is also responsible for the protection of patients, employees, visitors, and their property.

Public Safety Security Officer Position Requirements

  • Completion of the Public Safety Security Officer training program is due within three (3) months from the date of hire or transfer.

 Education

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D.

 Experience

  •  One-year prior experience in a law enforcement, fire or security-related job preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully undergo a comprehensive background and character investigation.
  • Valid driver’s license and verification of insurability under TidalHealth's automobile insurance plan.

Public Safety Security Officer Schedule

  • May be assigned to a permanent day, evening, or night shift.

  • Usually scheduled off every third weekend.

  • May be requested to work overtime on occasion.

Public Safety Security Officer Benefits

  • At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non-12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
