Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Risk & Quality Improvement Director (RN) to lead hospital-wide quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance initiatives within an acute care hospital setting.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing quality performance programs, patient safety reporting, accreditation readiness, risk assessment activities, and clinical outcome improvement efforts. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership and clinical teams to ensure high-quality, safe, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all quality improvement and patient safety initiatives throughout the hospital
  • Monitor, analyze, and report quality metrics, clinical outcomes, and patient safety data
  • Develop and implement strategies that improve patient care quality and operational performance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and patient safety requirements
  • Direct occurrence reporting, risk investigations, and liability claim assessments
  • Coordinate process improvement initiatives and outcomes management programs
  • Serve as the hospital resource for quality, risk management, accreditation, and regulatory matters
  • Support grievance and complaint resolution processes
  • Conduct risk assessments of clinical processes, procedures, and programs
  • Provide education and consultation to staff and leadership regarding quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote clinical excellence and regulatory readiness
  • Participate in hospital leadership activities and strategic planning efforts

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 2–5 years of Quality Improvement and/or Risk Management experience
  • Experience within an acute care hospital setting required
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, and patient safety programs
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze quality data and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with healthcare technology and reporting systems
