Job description

Position Summary

Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is seeking a physiatrist to join its dynamic, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. The department includes 11 physiatrists and a four‑year PM&R residency program. Duties will include primarily outpatient work, with some inpatient responsibilities, spasticity management, musculoskeletal ultrasound, electromyography, joint and trigger point injections. This position is ideal for physiatrists with an academic or teaching background; OMT manipulation is a plus. On‑call requirement is around 1:10 weeks for weekend coverage. Significant growth potential exists for the selected candidate. Must be BC/BE in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Our Rehabilitation Hospital, opened in 2009, offers a 174,000‑square‑foot, three‑story building with a 61‑bed Acute Rehabilitation Center, an 11‑bed secured Brain Injury Unit, a 50‑bed Subacute unit, aquatics therapy pool, outdoor therapy garden, on‑site pharmacy, radiological services, and an AANEM‑certified EMG lab performing over 2,000 EMGs per year. The hospital is accredited by CARF and The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities
  • Manage outpatient and inpatient physiatrical care.
  • Provide spasticity management, musculoskeletal ultrasound, electromyography and injection services.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, speech, and other therapy services.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO
  • American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Valid PA Medical License or ability to obtain one
  • Highly computer literate; EPIC charting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication of sensitive and adverse information
  • Sound judgment and expert decision‑making abilities
  • Analytical thinker and complex problem‑solver
