Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Quality to lead our hospital's quality and performance improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management, including regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, CMS, State of NM), disease-specific certifications, Leapfrog reporting, patient satisfaction, and national quality designations.

The Director will manage and mentor staff, develop and enforce quality-related policies, oversee accreditation preparation, and maintain departmental budgets and productivity. This position has direct oversight of the Disease Specific Program Team and Infection Prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate organizational quality initiatives with measurable outcomes.

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and quality reporting bodies.

  • Guide accreditation efforts and disease-specific certifications.

  • Supervise quality staff and infection prevention personnel.

  • Develop and manage department budgets and productivity metrics.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

    • Advanced degrees (MSN, Healthcare Administration, or MBA) strongly preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

    • Prior experience in a for-profit hospital setting is strongly preferred.

    • Proven success in leading quality initiatives and program development.

  • Licensure:

    • Current (or eligible) New Mexico RN license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with regulatory agencies in an acute care environment.
