Job description

Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the department/hospital; picks up biohazard/hospital trash and soiled linen; performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain The Queen's Medical Center - West Oahu (QMC - WO) in an orderly and sanitary condition.
• Performs duties in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Seeing, hearing, standing, walking, bending, stooping, forward and overhead reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling up to 5 pounds of force; lifting from floor to knuckle, knuckle to shoulder 40 pounds, shoulder to overhead 20 pounds.
• Frequent: talking, squatting, twisting, handling, fingering, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: sitting, running, climbing ladder, stairs, side bending, crawling, kneeling, crouching.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• May have some exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials, communicable diseases, and body fluids.
• Work involves performing duties in a small, confined space, ability to negotiates stairs, ramps, and walking uneven ground, and performing tasks sometimes in wet/slippery and hazardous conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High School diploma preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Experience as Housekeeping Aide preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
