Overview

A freestanding ER in Tyler, TX is seeking a RN Registered Nurse Freestanding ER to join their team. The RN Registered Nurse Freestanding ER at Hospitality Health ER cares for all patients including neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. The RN Registered Nurse Freestanding ER will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities for the RN Registered Nurse Freestanding ER

1. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of emergency patients.

2. Meeting and maintaining the RN Standards and Practice for Hospitality Health ER.

3. Participating in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care, including customer service assistance.

4. Carrying out orders by physician accurately and efficiently.

5. Identifying emergencies and providing necessary intervention.

6. Showing leadership and direction with co-workers and other staff members.

7. Communicating appropriately with patients and co-workers.

8. Showing knowledge when collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical facilities, as well as patients and families, in making decisions about patient care.

9. Performing POC testing as designated.

10. Additional assignments may include charge nurse, triage nurse, and discharge nurse duties.

11. Addressing patient concerns during the procedures and explaining the process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring.

12. Using tact, courtesy and poise when dealing with patients, keeping them calm and ensuring that they get the best care possible.

13. Processing patient data into the computer such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, age, weight, and position of entry.

14. Performing equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems.

15. Cooperating with facility healthcare personnel and complying with facility policies and procedure.

16. Greeting all patients and guests as they enter the facility in a warm and welcoming manner.

17. Cultivating and implementing a personal patient care initiative that goes above and beyond for all patients.

18. Exercising problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient concerns; referring patient concerns to appropriate designated personnel as needed.

19. Following the workflow as assigned and implementing changes and procedures with little to no notice; flexibility to meet change management requirements.

20. Adhering to and ensuring compliance with HHER policies, procedures, and customer service standards.

21. Participating in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment.

22. Preparing diligent notes with complete details within information system to communicate with other staff, supervisors, and auditors.

Requirements and Qualifications for the RN Registered Nurse Freestanding ER

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Texas licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners. The license must be in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Current credentials: BLS and ACLS; PALS/ENPC and NIH Stroke Scale certificate within six months of hire.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Perceptive of non-verbal cues by patients.
  • Self-motivated.
