Sonographer

The Broadlawns Medical Center campus includes an acute care hospital, primary and specialty care clinics, urgent care and emergency services, lab, radiology, dentistry, inpatient and outpatient mental health, crisis team, and community-based behavioral support services. This individual performs a variety of ultrasound procedures and related duties within their scope of practice and the policy and procedures of the department. The scope of testing provided is for all patient ages, gender, culture and background.

Full Time, 9p-730a or 8p- 630a M-Th

Performance Standards

  • Demonstrates flexibility to adapt to changes in workload, schedule, department function and procedures
  • Participates actively in creating a positive and harmonious work environment by demonstrating teamwork and cooperative, responsive behaviors
  • Meets/exceeds competency criteria specific to the task/duties of the position.
  • Completes all annual hospital-wide mandatory training within defined time frame.
  • Demonstrates competence in specified computer and ultrasound applications.
  • Utilizes time wisely, completing all patient exams in a timely manner, assisting others and performing departmental duties as needed. These duties may include restocking, housekeeping, patient safety and compliance improvements and inspection readiness.
  • Completes ASAP exams within one hour or as directed by radiologist and reports all stat exams within one hour.

Qualifications

  • Certification by the A.R.D.M.S. or registry eligible for sonography
  • Ability to demonstrate competency in sonographic procedures
  • Successful demonstration of competence in Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider)
  • Experience with general computer applications
  • 2 years of experience minimum required
