Job description

Job Title: Concrete Inspector
MUST HAVE
  • ICC certification or ACI certification
  • Concrete testing and inspection
  • Materials testing
  • Reinforced concrete experience
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience as a construction or concrete inspector with ICC certification
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with concrete testing and reinforced concrete
  • Valid driver's license
  • OBOA or WABO certification or willingness to obtain within a few months
  • Nuclear Density Gauge training and certification a plus
  • AWS-CWI Welding with construction inspection experience is a plus
  • OBOA, WABO, ODOT Certifications are advantageous
Job Description
We are seeking an ICC Special Inspector with over two years of experience and a certification in reinforced concrete. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company. The role involves performing testing, inspection, and field observations during construction projects.
Responsibilities
  • Perform testing on materials including soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, metal decking, roofing, and asphalt paving.
  • Inspect and review construction sites for compliance with contract documents.
  • Coordinate and interact with contractors in the field.
  • Write daily field reports documenting work performed by various contractors and indicating compliance or non-compliance with contract documents.
  • Coordinate with the department manager about the progress of projects.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to transport material samples and move a nuclear densometer.
  • Expected to carry a nuclear densometer, weighing 25 lbs, short distances.

Work Environment
This position is 90% field-based, involving travel in a company vehicle to various sites around Portland. While travel outside Portland is not required, it is encouraged. As you advance in the role, you may be assigned to a single job site. The first project is most likely a medical center in North Portland. We offer a dynamic work environment with access to a continuing education platform, Udemy, and opportunities to gain additional ICC certifications. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
