Job description

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.


Provides financial counseling services for patients receiving or who have received services at the facility by administering hospital financial assistance programs. Responsible for counseling insured and uninsured patients regarding financial responsibility, estimating patient liability, supporting pointofservice and predischarge collections, and assisting with payment plans in accordance with organizational policies. Responsible for identifying all sources of potential payers including auto-insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, third party liability (TPL), governmental insurance, etc. Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, patient access teams, and external agencies. Completes, submits, and follows up on financial assistance and charity applications, maintaining accurate documentation and escalating approvals or exceptions as required.
