Job description

Computer World Service, Corp. (CWS) is pursuing a new contract opportunity, and this position is contingent upon contract award. CWS seeks a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) to perform as the Senior Network Engineer - CONUS - to provide network (i.e. local, wireless, and wide area network) sustainment and deployment support services to military hospitals and clinics located throughout CONUS. Acts as the lead technical authority for CONUS network operations, providing enterprise-level engineering, escalation support, and architectural guidance for DHA network infrastructure.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary CONUS and global SME for LAN/WLAN/WAN operations
  • Lead resolution of complex network issues across all OSI layers
  • Provide advanced configuration, installation, and troubleshooting support
  • Guide network design, implementation, and modernization initiatives
  • Interface with Government, CSPs, GSPs, and external stakeholders
  • Develop standards, policies, and technical procedures
  • Perform performance analysis and proactive network optimization
  • Ensure compliance with DoD/DHA security and architecture requirements
  • Support firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust implementations
  • Mentor and lead network engineering staff
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience
    or 10 years equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience with:
    • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
    • Network tools (SolarWinds, Ansible, ARMIS)
    • Enterprise LAN/WAN environments
Certifications
  • IAM Level III (DoD 8570/8140 compliant)

  • CCNP (minimum)

  • CISSP (required)

Security Clearance
Candidates must have active Secret clearance
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)

Work Environment: Work is performed in Department of Defense Government facilities, ideally in San Antonio, TX.

Hybrid: Some hybrid work may be approved by the government customer.

Travel: Must reside within commuting distance to a Department of Defense (DoD) hospital.
