What is a hospital CNA?

Hospital CNAs, or Certified Nursing Assistants, are healthcare professionals who provide basic patient care in hospital settings. They assist registered nurses and other medical staff by helping patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Hospital CNAs also monitor and report changes in patients' conditions, take vital signs, and ensure patient comfort and safety. Their role is essential in supporting both patients and the overall healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.

What are some common challenges hospital CNAs face when working in a fast-paced inpatient environment?

Hospital CNAs often encounter challenges such as managing multiple patient needs simultaneously, adapting quickly to changes in patient conditions, and maintaining clear communication with nurses and other healthcare team members. You help turn patients over, bathe them, help them to get dressed and use the toilet, feed them, get them into wheelchairs so that can get around the hospital, and listen to patients. You record their medical conditions and take some simple vital signs for the nurse.
