Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates cafeteria cash register. Accurately accepts and processes payment due via cash, bankcards, and/or declining balance cards and makes required change for cafeteria customers. Balances and records register money at shift end. Ensures cash drawer has proper level of cash and change, notifies Shift Supervisor of needs as they arise. Completes cash handling paperwork accurately for deposits to hospital cashier.

Performs cleaning duties according to job task schedule, sanitation and safety standards, including beverage equipment, cafeteria tables and chairs, condiments, and other service equipment as needed. Constantly stocks, refills, cleans, and monitors supply items throughout the cafeteria.

Prepares simple food items such as muffins and biscuits for cafeteria service. Responsible for setting up salad bar, refilling self-service breakfast items, and snack items, as well as condiments, and nonfood items and supplies. Responsible for monitoring food temperatures and reporting concerns to Shift Supervisor as needed.

Adheres to HACCP and ISDH sanitation standards including food safety documentation.

Maintains organized work area to complete job tasks.

Performs related work task as assigned by Shift Supervisor.

Participates and promotes PI (Performance Improvement) activities.

Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Must be able to read and write. Less than high school education is necessary. No experience necessary. 90 day “on the job” training provided.
