Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

  • Perform advanced grounds and horticultural maintenance, including planting, pruning, irrigation troubleshooting, and overall landscape care to ensure healthy, high-quality outdoor environments.
  • Maintain and enhance planting beds, turf, and specialty landscapes while upholding aesthetic standards and elevating the guest experience.
  • Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and implement solutions such as pest management, fertilization, and seasonal care programs.
  • Lead and support advanced grounds operations, including equipment use, landscape improvements, and oversight of assigned work areas with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Perform and coordinate repairs to outdoor structures (fencing, gates, pergolas, decking, benches, signage, and trails), including skilled carpentry and collaboration with Facilities or vendors for larger projects.
  • Provide guidance and informal training to junior team members while supporting cross-functional collaboration to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bring 4-6+ years of progressive experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture operations, ideally within a resort, hospitality, or high-end commercial environment.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in irrigation systems, landscape equipment operation, and basic construction or carpentry work.
  • Apply practical knowledge of horticulture practices, including plant care, maintenance techniques, and landscape enhancements.
  • Show the ability to lead by example, with experience mentoring or guiding team members preferred.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or coursework in horticulture, landscape management, or related trades is a plus.
  • Irrigation and pesticide applicator licenses and other trade-related certifications are highly valued.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
