POSITION TITLE: Girl Scouts Sales Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Product Program

STATUS: Full Time

We are looking for a dynamic and energized leader who will oversees specific aspects of the Girl Scouts cookie and fall product sale programs within the GSHN council, providing support and generating enthusiasm for the program

POSITION SUMMARY

The main component of Girl Scouts Sales Manager is the annual cookie sale which is the largest single contributor to Council income. The position identifies opportunities and challenges to meeting budgetary goals and recommends innovative solutions using strong analytical skills. He/she uses critical thinking to supervise the implementation of new sales and marketing strategies that will improve the program experience for girls and volunteers, as well as increase cookie sales that will provide the necessary resources to delivery on the Girl Scout mission. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing consistent and accurate messaging regarding the two product programs to key stakeholders and creating tactical plans to engage girls, parents and adult volunteers in annual product sale programs. He/she manages the successful execution of all aspects of the Councilโ€™s product program, including budgeting, marketing, training and promotions.

The ideal candidate will enjoy building relationships with volunteers and collaborating with other departments, who are invested in supporting the next generation of female entrepreneurs.

Duties as the Sales Manager will include successfully performing the following:

  • Financial & Inventory Oversight: Manage multi-million dollar budgets for Cookie and Fall Product Programs, monitor expenses, process orders, and assess inventory needs to ensure program efficiency.
  • Strategic Program Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to engage girls and volunteers, operationalize new program initiatives, and track key performance metrics.
  • Volunteer & Stakeholder Engagement: Recruit, train, and support volunteers and staff; develop training materials and provide guidance to ensure a positive program experience.
  • Marketing & Program Promotion: Collaborate on marketing strategies, update digital and print content, and create initiatives that motivate participation across all stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership & Auditing: Hire, coach, and manage staff; oversee auditing of funds and vendor systems, ensuring accountability, accuracy, and interdepartmental communication.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills โ€“ Communicates in a concise, effective and organized manner. Able to tailor messages to diverse audiences (girls, parents and adult volunteers).

Strong Time and Project Management Skills โ€“ Lead individuals and teams by keeping people on task and fulfilling project commitments by designated deadlines.

Financial Management โ€“ Monitors sales, expenditures, and delinquencies. Continuously compares financial transactions against departmental budget.

Decision Making & Accountability โ€“ Ability to gather the right tools, engage the right people and research information that will result in an objective outcome.

Customer Service โ€“ Provide excellent customer service by finding ways to better serve our stakeholders needs. Work towards creating an atmosphere of cooperation and friendliness when resolving problems for a broad spectrum of customers.


Qualifications & Education:

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred; related experience considered of no less than 3 years in program/marketing or similar background.

โ€ข Willingness to maintain standards, carry out the mission and adhere to the policies of GSUSA and Girl Scouts Hornets' Nest
