Job description

Position Overview
  • In this role you will have responsibility for teaching the fundamentals of basketball under the guidance of The Hornets Hoops Director for Hornets Hoops Camps and Clinics. Hornets Hoops Coaches run stations and drills while also coaching teams in a 5 vs 5 format.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Run and instruct stations and drills
  • Coach teams in 5 vs 5 format
  • Provide an atmosphere for developing high morale, positive reinforcement, and well-being among the camps
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Help coordinate various aspects of the Hornets Youth Basketball programs, including event logistics, registration, setup, and breakdown

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Previous experience working at children's sports camps
  • Basketball experience is highly desired
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to shape research, data, and collected intel into strategy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills - listens to others, works well in a team environment
  • Able to adjust to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
  • Consistently at work on time, follows instructions, and respond to manager's instructions
  • Must be able lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend and other duties associated with basic basketball skills
